NIO Scientists Meetings 

• Dr. A.R. Tabrez, DG, NIO attend the Public Hearing under Supervision Environmental Protection Agency, Government of Sindh, for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of Compact Steel Plant at Port Qasim Proposed by M/s. Abbas Steel Group Metals Limited on 29th October, 2011 at Avari Tower, Karachi. 

• Dr. A.R. Tabrez, DG, NIO attend the Public Hearing under Supervision Environmental Protection Agency, Government of Sindh, for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report of Reconstruction of Berths 15 to 17A & SRB’s 1 & 2 East Warf Karachi Port, Karachi Proposed by Karachi Port on 20th October, 2011 at Beach Luxury Hotel, Karachi. 

• Dr. A.R. Tabrez, DG, NIO and Ms. Nuzhat Khan, SRO attend the various meetings to discuss the pending cases of NIO with MoST’s Officers at Islamabad on 16 – 18 October, 2011.  

• Ms. Nuzhat Khan, SRO as a member of Committee for national and international liaison, attended a meeting with vice chairman and other members of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry to develop collaboration and cooperation between coastal Industries and NIO in the field of marine environmental research and monitoring.  

• Mr. S. Moazzam Ali, PSO attend the IAEA/RCA meeting for Executive Management Meeting for Environmental Agencies and National Nuclear Institutes, 08-12 August, 2011 in Manila, Philippines. 

• Syed Moazzam Ali, PSO attend a meeting with the rehabilitation programme of Pasni Fish Harbour, the Secretary Fisheries, Government of Balochistan along with a team of officials of Pasni Fish Harbour Authority visited NIO on 3rd August, 2011 and presented a detailed overview of the problem being faced by the local fishing community due to the siltation of the Pasni Fish Harbour to Director General, NIO.
