• National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) Pakistan and State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC), East China Normal University (ECNU) China joint research on:
  "Sediment transport & flux studies under climate change and human activities in the Indus River delta and Yangtze River Delta (Dr. Qing He, Dr. Shilun Yang, Dr. Fang Shen, Dr. Tabraz, Dr. Inam)"

• NIO was actively involved in the international Program in oceanography such as the North Arabian Sea Environment and Ecosystem Research (NASEER) , Pak-Dutch program examined the geology and geophysical aspects of Pakistan coastal and offshore areas; the Pak-German (PAKOMIN) program evaluated the characteristic oxygen minimum zones during pre and post monsoonal periods.
